Why I'm Building a Lead Engine

Watching a real sales workflow, most of the week goes to research rather than selling. That's the problem I'm building around.

The Lead Engine comes from watching how B2B sales research actually happens: dozens of browser tabs, a spreadsheet, and the same questions every time.

  • What does this company do?
  • Do they import or export?
  • Are they a fit for what we sell?
  • Who’s the right person?
  • Who should I call first?

None of those questions is hard. Answering them for hundreds of companies is. And it gets redone for every new territory.

The workflow I’m designing around: Discover → Enrich → Classify → Prioritize → Research → Outreach.

The rule I keep coming back to: the engine has to show why an account surfaced. A score without a reason is just another number for a salesperson to ignore.

I built a front-end prototype with sample data to think through the interface before the data pipeline is done.
